A man died allegedly after his car plunged into a canal in Bamphakud area under Sadar Police limits in Cuttack. The deceased has been identified as Kanha Jena.
As per initial reports, Jena was missing from Monday night. The family had tried to contact and search for him after he did not return home till late hours yesterday. However, they could not get any information about his whereabouts.
It was some locals who initially spotted a car inside a canal on Tuesday morning. Later, the locals informed the Odisha Fire Services and soon a team arrived at the spot and pulled out the car.
After pulling the car out of the canal, the team found Jena's body on the driver's seat. It is suspected that Jena died after his car veered off the road and fell into the canal last night.

Meanwhile, Sadar Police has seized the body and started an investigation into the matter.
