Today is 26/11! On this day 12 years ago terrorists came via the Arabian Sea and attacked Mumbai. Their aim was to get control over the economic capital of India. However, the unparalleled courage and presence of mind shown by a few made sure that these terrorists do not succeed.
The 10 Pakistani terrorists targetted several prominent places in Mumbai including Leopold Cafe, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station, Taj Hotel and Tower, Cama Hospital, the Oberoi Trident Hotel, and Nariman House Complex.
The mayhem continued for around 3 days killing 190 people with several wounded in the attack.
On 26/11, Ratan Tata Remembers Act of Unity and Kindness By People From Diverse Cultures
Ratan Tata, former chairman of the Tata Group, which owns the Taj Hotel chains across the world today came out with a meaningful message on his Twitter handle.
He wrote, "The wanton destruction that took place 12 years ago today will never be forgotten. But what is more memorable is the way Mumbai as diverse people came together, casting aside all differences to vanquish terrorism and destruction on that day. Today, we certainly can mourn the ones we lost and honor the sacrifice of the brave who helped conquer the enemy, but what we must applaud, is the unity and the acts of kindness and sensitivity which we should cherish, and which hopefully, will continue to shine in the years ahead."

Several Twitter users also responded to this tweet by one of the biggest industrialists of India remembering the 26/11 attack on Mumbai. A user wrote, "1 More than enemies outside, enemies within are dangerous. Users also remembered IPS officer Hemant Karkare who was the chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad at that time. A user wrote, "I stayed at a guest house in Mumbai where I found this at the entrance of the building. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten."

Apart from those in uniforms, there were a few who were just common civilians but still made sure that terrorism does not get a hold over Mumbai. One such person was the general manager of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Karambir Singh Kang.

His cool presence of mind helped hundreds of guests, as well as staff, escape the hotel during the attack. While he survived his wife and two children were killed in the fire triggered by the attack.
