Mumbai: Sur-kshetra, a reality music show involving Indian and Pakistani singers would soon go on air where budding singers from both the countries would try to outdo each other.

The show will have two captains - music director-singer Himesh Reshamiya and Pakistani musical sensation Atif Aslam, who would be grooming the contestants.

"For me, this is not a war...this is a message of love. We have so many misconceptions (about each other). Today`s generation wants to live peacefully," Atif told reporters here on Thursday.

Himesh said, "The concept of the show is strong. This will be a musical fight between budding Indian and Pakistani singers. It is a neutral platform for them."

The show will be judged by legendary singers like Abida Parveen from Pakistan, Runa Laila from Bangladesh and Asha Bhosale from India who would award the contestant either a zero or 10 marks for their performance.

"All contestants are amazing singers. So much that I even cried when they sang emotional songs," Asha Bhosale said.

The other judges, Abida Parveen and Runa Laila are very excited about doing this show. "For me it was difficult to judge the contestants and do the show. Considering that Ashaji is from India, Abidaji is from Pakistan and as I am from Bangladesh, I have to be neutral...I have to balance things," Runa said.

Abida said, "I am happy to be part of this show. The concept of giving either a zero and 10 put me in a tight spot."

A few episodes of this show, to be hosted by actress Ayesha Takia, were shot in Dubai. The show will go on air on September 8 every Saturday-Sunday at 7.30 PM on Sahara One and Colors channel.

Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has opposed the show because of participation of Pakistani singers and appealed to Asha Bhosale against taking part in it.
