Several actors have opened up about their horrible experiences of casting couch. However, Aamir Khan's Dangal co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh is the latest one who shared her casting couch experience in South Film Industry.
Fatima Sana Shaikh Opens Up On Casting Couch Experience
During a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, the Dangal actress recounted the challenges she faced during the early phase of her career. She opened up about an uncomfortable interaction with a casting agent for a South Indian film.
Sana said, "He asked me, ‘You will be ready to do everything, right?’ I told him that I will be working hard and will do what is required for the role, but he kept saying that, and I played dumb because I wanted to see how low can he get.”

Further, Sana recalled another incident in Hyderabad when she was hopeful of securing a role in a South Indian film, which could have made a way for her to step into Bollywood.
She said, "The producers would talk about it very openly, ‘You know, here you have to meet people’. They wouldn’t say things outright but would imply them in strange ways. Of course, they’d say it indirectly but make their intentions clear. They’d say things like, ‘You have to meet people’, or ‘You have to do this and that’.”
However, the actress also acknowledged that not everyone in the industry behaves in such a way. Further, she also expressed her sadness over the unfortunate experiences of the individuals who have shared their stories of casting couch.
While she said that such incidents are deeply troubling for individuals, she also highlighted that several renowned actors and actresses have faced such instances of abuse.

On the work front, Fatima will be next seen in Anurag Basu's romantic drama Metro...In Dino. The movie also stars alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Ali Fazal. She also has Ul Jalool Ishq, directed by Manish Malhotra, in her kitty.
