I cannot be choosy about films: Shazahn Padamsee
(image) New Delhi: Actress Shazahn Padamsee, who made her debut with `Rocket Singh` in Bollywood, says she is too young in the industry to be able to pick and choose.
"I am here to work and am ready to take up anything interesting. I am too new to pick and choose from the offers I get. I am lucky that I debuted with a Shimit Amin-directed movie and got the chance to work with Madhur Bhandarkar in my second film in Bollywood," Shazahn told media.
Although her role in the movie almost went unnoticed, Shazahn has no regrets about her first film as it helped her land a role in Madhur Bhandarkar`s `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` opposite Ajay Devgn.
"It is my stepping stone in the industry. It doesn`t matter how long my role was, I am glad to have contributed at least something in a film as good as this," the actress said about her debut film, which failed to make any impression on the box office despite getting critical acclaim.
Despite being born to famous parents – actors Alyque Padamsee and Sharon Prabhakar – Shazahn is glad to undergo her part of the struggle and refuses to count herself among star-kids born with a silver spoon.
"I am not from a film family and my parents are not going to make a movie for me or anything. I have had to find my own footing. The ads I did in the beginning of my career gave me visibility," said Shazahn.
She was into theatre before stepping into Bollywood and had no inclination to become an movie actress until offers came in."I wanted to be a writer, be a part of the advertising world. Acting just happened."
As of now, Shazahn is super excited about sharing screen space with Devgn in`Dil To.`and has thoroughly enjoyed working with the 41-year-old actor.
"Ajay sir has a very cool, tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. He is very giving as an actor and throws no starry tantrums. He made me feel comfortable on the sets and even came to pat my back after one scene," said Shazahn.
Even though the romantic comedy is a multi-starrer also including Emraan Hashmi, Shruti Hassan and Omi Vaidya, Shazahn is not worried about going unnoticed in the crowd.
"I am opposite Ajay Devgn, how can I get lost? All my scenes are with him. The film has three parallel stories running simultaneously so each one gets its due," she said.
The chance to work with Bhandarkar is another high for Shazahn, who plays the role of June Pinto, a simple, bubbly Christian girl in the movie.
"I am a huge fan of Madhur Bhandarkar. Though he is famous for serious movies, he is the funniest person I`ve ever met and he should have made a comedy long back," she said.
