Mumbai: Hiten Tejwani, who shot to fame with `Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi` as Tulsi Virani`s step-son feels there are not many characters left on small screen where actors can experiment.

"It is now upto the actors on how they do it differently," Hiten told PTI.

The actor who featured in serials like `Ghar Ek Mandir`, `Kutumb`, `Kksum`, `Kesar` among others before his big show `Kyun Ki..` said television has evolved a lot and currently most of the shows are with a rural set up.

The 37-year-old actor, who will now be seen as the host of Swayamwar season three `Ratan Ka Rishta` on Imagine TV, said he will play `sutradhar` who will take the story forward.

"Audiences will get to see the real me unlike my characters like Karan (Kyunki Saas..) and Pratham (Kutumb)," he said.

Hiten agreed that the characters he portrayed after "Kyunki.." did not match popularity of the Balaji soap which ran on television for seven years.

Speaking about Swayamwar, the actor said he was approached to be the host in the first season, but could not commit himself since he was already doing a daily soap `Kitni Mohabbat Hai`.

"Ram Kapoor did the two seasons and now I am doing it. Swayamwar is a big thing for a girl where she can select from the best," Hiten said.

He said the show will have 16 contestants from which actress Ratan Rajput will chose her groom. When asked about his wife and co-star Gauri Pradhan, Hiten said she is now a `full time mom` to our twins.

As a host, Hiten said he will also play friend, philosopher and guide to Ratan in her journey of finding Mr. Right.

Swayamvar Season 3 will be hosted in a Jaipur resort and the shooting will begin soon, he said.
