Three days after the passing of legendary actor Dharmendra, Hema Malini finally gathered the strength to share her emotions with the world. In a deeply moving message posted on Twitter, she remembered not just a superstar, but the man who stood beside her through every season of life - as a companion, a confidant, and a guiding light.

A Love Remembered in Her Own Words

"Dharam ji (red heart emoji), He was many things to me. Loving Husband, adoring Father of our two girls, Esha & Ahaana, Friend, Philosopher, Guide, Poet, my ‘go to’ person in all times of need - in fact, he was everything to me! And always has been through good times and bad. He endeared himself to all my family members with his easy, friendly ways, always showing affection and interest in all of them."

Further, she added, "As a public personality, his talent, his humility in spite of his popularity, and his universal appeal set him apart as a unique icon unequalled among all the legends. His enduring fame and achievements in the film industry will last forever."

"My personal loss is indescribable and the vacuum created is something that will last through the rest of my life. After years of togetherness, I am left with myriad memories to relive the many special moments….” she added.

The Day Indian Cinema Lost a Giant

On November 24, the nation woke up to the painful news of Dharmendra’s passing at the age of 89. The “He-Man of Indian Cinema,” whose presence defined an era of Bollywood, breathed his last at his Mumbai residence after a prolonged period of ill health.

His final rites took place at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, where fans, friends, and family gathered to bid their final goodbye. Dharmendra had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on November 10 following a health decline. Though he was discharged two days later for care at home, destiny had a different plan. His family stood by him until his last moment.

He leaves behind a large and loving family - his first wife Prakash Kaur and their children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, and Ajeita, and his second wife, Hema Malini, along with their daughters Esha and Ahana.
