In a shocking display of inhumanity, a minor college girl was brutally assaulted in full public view at the busy Binika bus stand in Sonepur district.
Eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage reveal that a college student grabbed the girl by her hair and dragged her across the bus stand before launching a violent attack. Shockingly, several bystanders witnessed the assault but no one intervened to stop it.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the location, which has now become a key piece of evidence. Following the assault, the victim’s family lodged a complaint at Binika Police Station, demanding strict action against the accused.
According to sources, the incident took place on August 19. The accused was picked up by the police and later released after being served Notice. 41, as he is a minor too.
The victim’s father has died, and she was living with her uncle and aunt in Binika and waiting for a bus at the bus stand. At that time, the boy came and grabbed the girl by her hair and dragged her across the bus stand.
Meanwhile, the CWC has rescued the girl and is counseling her, sources added.
Since the victim is a minor, the matter has also been taken up by the Child Welfare Committee, which has begun a detailed inquiry into the case.
