Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly killed his five- year-old daughter and seriously injured his wife, sister-in- law and niece before attempting suicide at Bhimatangi area here today, police said.
In a fit of rage, Subodh Sahu attacked his family members with a sharp weapon injuring the three and killing his daughter Simran.
Then he tried to kill himself, the police said, adding, Sahu and the three other injured were hospitalised.
Commissioner of Police R P Sharma said the police is investigating the incident from different angles to ascertain the exact reason behind Sahu taking the extreme step.
Neighbours said Sahu, his wife and daughter were living in the house along with his father and his brother's family.
