Border 2 brings back OG heroes Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and Sudesh Berry with Sunny Deol!

The teaser of the upcoming war drama Border 2, based on the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, has sparked intense discussion online. Featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, the sequel promises a stirring blend of patriotism and powerful performances. While many applauded its emotional impact, a section of viewers raised concerns about the visual effects.

Amid this mixed buzz and as the film’s release draws closer, an exciting report has emerged - Border 2 may revive the spirit of the iconic 1997 classic by bringing back its original heroes.

The Return of Fallen Legends!

According to a report by Mid-Day, the OG heroes of 1971’s Border, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and Sudesh Berry, are set to make special appearances in the sequel, reprising their original characters.

Reportedly, Akshaye Khanna returns as Second Lieutenant Dharamvir Singh Bhakhri, Suniel Shetty as Assistant Commandant Bhairon Singh Rathore, and Sudesh Berry as Naib Subedar Mathura Das. 

Notably, all three characters were martyred in the original film, making their return emotionally significant.

Old and New Characters Cross Paths!

In Border 2, the narrative introduces a poignant moment where characters from the original film interact with the new generation of soldiers at an event held before the 1971 war unfolds. 

This carefully crafted sequence acts as a bridge between the past and the present, tying both films together seamlessly. According to reports, the makers believe this moment amplifies emotional depth and serves as a reminder of the courage and sacrifice depicted in the first 'Border'.

The sequence was initially planned for an earlier shoot but faced delays due to scheduling challenges. Akshaye Khanna and Sudesh Berry filmed their portions in Mumbai in November. Suniel Shetty, occupied with another project and a different on-screen look, completed his segment using a green screen.

To maintain continuity, the makers will rely on advanced visual effects to de-age all three actors, ensuring they resemble their appearances from the original Border.
