Pune: Eminent singer Asha Bhosale disapproves the participation of promising young singers in TV reality shows, saying it does not promote their career prospects.

"There are lots of talented young boys and girls who take part in TV shows to achieve fame. They dress up, wear make-up and dance while singing. This dancing and dressing up is not required for a genuine singer," she said in a media interaction here today.

Asha also asked parents not to encourage their wards to participate in TV shows and instead try to mould them with sound basics in classical music with proper training.

"The chances of these young people in TV shows getting an opportunity to sing in films are also less as now a days most of the music directors also double as play back singers," she added.
