The singer has opened a restaurant named Heshel in Jiaganj in Murshidabad district in West Bengal, offering affordable and nutritious meals priced at just Rs 40, according to multiple reports.

The eatery aims to make quality food accessible to students, daily wage earners, and local residents, helping ensure no one goes hungry due to financial constraints. The name Heshel, meaning kitchen in local usage, evokes warmth, comfort, and home-style dining.

Heshel is part of Arijit Singh’s wider family presence in Jiaganj and is managed by his father, Gurdayal Singh, as part of their long-standing local business. Rather than opening a high-end celebrity eatery, Singh’s initiative has struck a chord for its humility and relevance to everyday life, especially in a region where affordable, wholesome meals can make a real difference.
