Adima Bichara, directed by internationally acclaimed Odia filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra, was selected for its strong portrayal of a tribal community whose enabling humanism shows a way out of pettiness and prejudice.

The movie is based on a century-old story written by Mohaptra’s father Kapileswar Prasad. Mohapatra, best known for making cinema with rich Odia culture, had earlier helmed popular films like ‘Bahudibe Mo Jaga Balia’, ‘Sabu Mayara Baya’, ‘Bou’, and ‘Sala Budha’, among others.
