Irrfan Khan’s sudden demise has been a big jolt to the film industry. The actor who within a very short period rose to international fame will be greatly missed. Apart from his contribution to the film world, Irrfan Khan has always been a man known to speak out his mind without any hesitation. Be it condemning the act of killing a goat for β€˜Qurbani’ or marrying Sutapa Sikdar, his every statement created controversy but the β€œLife of Pi” actor never backed away from what he quoted.

In one of his throwback interviews, Irrfan clearly said that he would not like to be known as Irrfan Khan but only as Irrfan. He said, β€œ I’m not Khan, am just Irrfan.” In this video, the β€œHindi Medium” is seen sharing the space with Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Ayushmann Khurrana, and interviewer Rajeev Masand.

Irrfan Khan Felt Burdened With The Khan Lineage

In the interview, the actor clearly states that he does know how people will remember him after he stopped working. He gave the example of thespian Dilip Kumar who is still considered to be the best actor of all times in the Hindi film industry. But since he stopped working almost a decade ago people do not remember him.

Irrfan believes that years later many people will not remember him and that is why he does not want to bond himself in a particular lineage. That is the reason he does not want to be known as Khan because he does not know how people will remember him and Irrfan believes it is a kind of trap. The actor says,” It is useless thought how people will remember me and that does not mean anything at all.”

He believed that even though an act is conducted with the best of intentions, human minds tend to twist it according to their convenience. There are very few people who are ready to speak their minds publicly without any fear and Irrfan Khan was one such amazing person and that is one of the many reasons why he will be missed very much.
