Telangana IAS, IPS couple choose simple registered marriage; set example
In a refreshing departure from lavish wedding traditions, an IAS–IPS couple in Telangana chose to solemnise their marriage through a simple registered ceremony, sending out a strong message on simplicity and social responsibility.
IAS officer Srikant Reddy and IPS officer Sheshadrini Reddy formalised their marriage at the Choutuppal Sub-Registrar Office in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Wednesday. The couple opted for a no-frills, legally registered marriage, avoiding grand celebrations and excessive expenditure, an act that has drawn widespread appreciation.
No Lavish Wedding
Sheshadrini Reddy, who is currently serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Quthbullapur, hails from Lingareddygudem village in Telangana. Known for her professional commitment and discipline, she has earned respect within the police department for her work.

Her husband, Srikant Reddy, is from Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh and is presently undergoing training as an IAS officer.
No Display Of Luxury
The ceremony was attended by a small group of family members, close friends, and a few senior government officials who gathered to bless the couple. There were no elaborate rituals or displays of luxury, reflecting the couple’s belief in keeping personal milestones simple and meaningful.
Officials present lauded the couple’s decision, stating that it sets an example for society, especially at a time when weddings are often associated with financial strain and social pressure. The couple’s choice is being widely praised on social media, with many calling it a model for responsible and mindful living.
By choosing simplicity over spectacle, the IAS–IPS couple have reinforced the values of humility, integrity, and public service, principles that lie at the heart of their professions.
