OSSC
In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch on Sunday arrested the prime accused in the 2023 OSSC JE Civil main examination question paper leak case. The accused, identified as Rajmohan Prasad, was apprehended from Bihar following an intensive investigation.
Prime Accused Brought to Odisha
Crime Branch officials tracked down Prasad’s location and executed the arrest. He was later brought to Odisha and produced before the court as part of the legal procedure in the ongoing investigation.
Three-Day Remand Granted
After being presented before the court, Crime Branch secured a three-day remand of the accused. This remand period is expected to help investigators gather more information regarding the paper leak network and other individuals involved.
Earlier, Balasore Police had arrested multiple individuals, including a mastermind and teachers, involved in this inter-state racket that charged candidates up to Rs 10 lakh for the leaked papers, leading to a re-exam in September 2023 and a subsequent CID probe.
The arrest of the prime accused marks a significant step forward in the probe into the OSSC JE Civil exam leak. Crime Branch continues its investigation to uncover the full extent of the malpractice and prevent such breaches in future examinations.
