OPSC Exam 2017: Deadline to apply extended to Dec 30; get other details

Bhubaneswar: After complaints from the civil services aspirants of the State, the last date to apply for the the Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2017, conducted by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), extended till December 30, 2017.

Meanwhile, the last date for payment of fee also extended till January 3, 2018.

Earlier, the deadline to apply for the OPSC Exam 2017 was December 12 and the last date to pay fee was December 14.

“We were expecting more time. But it’s at least manageable now as it has been extended by almost over a half month,” said a civil service aspirant.

Ashok Meena, special secretary (general administration), had earlier said, “Keeping the concerns of aspirants in mind, we have decided to postpone the exam. The last date to apply will also be extended and a corrigendum in this regard will be issued soon, said.

Know Important Details

Candidates under 32 and over 21 years of age as on January 1, 2017 — not born earlier than January 2, 1985 AND later than January 1, 1996 — are only eligible to apply. Age relaxation is there as per the norms.

In case of educational qualification, candidates applying must possess a Bachelor’s Degree.


The prelim exam will be consists of two papers of objective type– (i) General Studies – Paper 1 – 200 marks and (ii) General Studies – Paper 2 – 200 Marks.
