Bhubaneswar: Aspirants for the Leave Training Reserve (LTR) teacher posts have been staging a protest in front of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) office in Bhubaneswar, demanding the immediate release of the merit list for high school teacher recruitment. The demonstration entered its eighth day on Monday.
The recruitment process for LTR teachers began in 2023, with approximately 6,025 posts announced for Arts, Odia, Hindi, and Sanskrit subjects. Following the declaration of results, certificate verification was completed from January 22. However, despite the completion of the verification process, the OSSC has not yet published the merit list.
Hundreds of aspirants have intensified their agitation, with more than a thousand candidates reportedly joining the protest. The demonstrators continued their sit-in throughout the previous night outside the OSSC office.
One of the protesters said, “We met a delegation, and we were informed that the merit list would be released soon. However, it has been eight days since we began protesting, and there has been no update on the website or through any official notification.”
