Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: In yet another major recruitment for students awaiting a job in the postal sector, the India Post has invited applications for as many as 2800 vacancies for the posts of Postal Assistant, Mail Guard, Sorting Assistant, Postman, Gramin Dak Sevak, MTS and Staff Car driver under the India Post Recruitment 2018.
Candidates are advised to go through the details of each of the vacancies in the postal sectors mentioned below.
Vacancy 1: Postman
Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed Class 10th.

Vacancy 2: Mail Guard
Educational Qualification: Matriculation from any recognized Board or University.

Selection Procedure: The selection will be based on the marks obtained in the Aptitude Test. A merit list of qualified candidates will be prepared in each Postal/ RMS Division separately.
Vacancy 3: Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant
Educational Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Sports Qualification:
(a) Sportsmen who have represented a State or the Country in the National or International competition in the sports/games given in of this notification.
(b) Sportsmen who have represented their University in the Inter University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Boards in the sports/games given in Annexure-1 of this notification.
(c) Sportsmen who have represented the State Schools Teams in the National Sports/Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the games/sports as per the notification
d) Sportsmen who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.
Age Limit: Age should be between 18 and 27 years (Candidates born not before 21.02.1991 and not later than 20.02.2000)

Vacancy 4: Gramin Dak Sevak
Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed Class 10th from approved state boards by the respective State Govt./Central Govt. No weightage will be given for possessing any qualification(s) higher than the mandatory educational qualification.

Computer Knowledge: The candidate should have computer knowledge and will be required to furnish basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute. Certificates from Central Government/ State Government/ University/ Boards etc., will also be acceptable for this purpose. This requirement of basic computer knowledge certificate shall be relaxable in cases where a candidate has studied computer as a subject in Class X or Class XII or higher educational qualification provided the candidate submits a certificate of Class X or Class XII or higher educational qualification in which he/she has studied computer as a subject.
Age Limit: Applicants' age should be between 18 and 40 years as on January 19, 2018.

Vacancy 5: Staff Car Driver
Educational Criteria:
(i) Possession of a valid Driving License for light and heavy motor vehicles;
(ii) Knowledge of Motor mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicle);
(iii) Experience of driving light and heavy motor vehicle for at least three years; and
(iv) Pass in 10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institute.
Age Limit: The Maximum age limit for appointment by Deputation/Absorption should not be exceeding 56 years as on the March 12, 2018.

Experience Required: 3-5 years
