The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, on Wednesday issued a crucial directive to all Higher Secondary Schools (HS. Schools) under its jurisdiction regarding the upcoming Annual Higher Secondary Examination (AHSE) 2026.
Dr. Prasanta Kumar Parida, Controller of Examinations, has instructed all principals and headmasters of H.S. Schools to ensure the mandatory installation and functioning of CCTV cameras in critical examination areas. This includes the Strong Rooms of Examination Management Hubs (EMHs), Centre Superintendent’s offices, examination halls/rooms, and laboratories in self-financing H.S. Schools.
The move aims to guarantee a smooth, transparent, and secure conduct of the examinations. Additionally, live streaming of these locations must be made accessible to officials at CHSE, the School and Mass Education Department, and the respective District Collectorates for effective real-time monitoring.
The Council has set a strict deadline for schools to complete the installation and testing of CCTV systems by 29th November 2025. Schools that have newly applied to become examination centers must also comply with these requirements.

Schools are required to use reliable equipment such as DVR/NVR systems, preferably from brands like CP+, Hikvision, or similar, along with an internet connection speed of at least 50 Mbps, static IP addresses, and cloud services for uninterrupted streaming.
Furthermore, all schools must update detailed information regarding their CCTV setup, including the make and serial numbers of DVR/NVR devices, internet service provider details, and login credentials on the SAMS e-space platform by the stipulated deadline.
Failure to comply with these directives may result in the cancellation of the school as an examination centre for both theory and practical exams. The Council has also warned of possible government action against non-compliant schools.
Schools are also urged to update their official contact information and admission in-charge details on the SAMS website to ensure seamless communication.
The CHSE has emphasized that this directive is of utmost urgency to ensure the integrity and smooth conduct of the AHSE 2026.
