CBSE Exams 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken many initiatives to make the teachers and students techno-savvy because technology has been playing an effective role in all fields including the educational sector.
Teaching is no longer exception as various e-learning platforms have come up and currently replacing the traditional teaching-learning method. In order to make the teaching-learning process more technology friendly, CBSE has been collaborated with Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd. and IBM.
CBSE and Microsoft
The Microsoft will conduct capacity building programmes for 1000 teachers. The program titled ‘The Capacity Building Programme’ will introduce latest technologies for improving access to and use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools that will help them integrate technology into teaching, use digital technologies safely, enhance the learning experiences and improve 21st century skills of all students.
The programme will include aspects of Artificial Intelligence, gamification through Minecraft, collaborative tools such as Teams, Flipgrid, OneNote.
Process For Registration For The Programme
Each school that has been selected by the CBSE has been asked to nominate two teachers for taking up the training programme. The last date for registration is September 9. Microsoft will train the teachers of all the CBSE affiliated schools across the country. The training programme will begin on September 11 and will conclude on September 28. CBSE and IBM
Similarly, the CBSE has also joined hands with to build the curriculum for Artificial Intelligence (AI) for school children. Earlier, the CBSE had announced to introduce AI for students from class 8.
“Aiming to ensure that current students are AI workforce ready, CBSE introduced AI as a skill subject for Grade 9-10 along with a 12-hour ‘Inspire’ module for class 8,” said the Board.
“In line with these developments, CBSE is working towards building the IBM-AI K-12 Curriculum in collaboration with IBM India, targeting Grade 11 and Grade 12 teachers and students. We need to give youth the opportunity to learn and understand AI-based concepts and technologies that they already experience in their everyday lives that will help them build a better world for themselves and be connected with the careers of tomorrow. AI readiness with an innovation readiness mind-set can propel students to achieve limitless possibilities,” added the Board.
About The Programme
In Phase I of implementation, the programme will focus on PGT’s and students in Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar. The programme will consist of the following 3 stages:
Stage 1- Orientation Workshop for Principals / School Leaders
Stage 2- Teacher Training
Stage 3- AI - Enabled SEWA Programme for Students
Registration Process
The registration process will be closing on September 9 (12 noon). You can also clink on the link- https://forms.gle/aSB93iK5brnAPAFf9 for direct registration.
Upon completion of the registration form and survey questionnaire, selected schools will receive a confirmation of participation in the programme along with some pre-read material on AI for their teachers and students, as a preparatory step towards the training programme.
From all the applications received, the CBSE will shortlist a total of 1,000 schools to be eligible to participate in the teacher training programme.
Teachers who have attended the training programmes conducted by Intel, Adobe or Microsoft in the last six months will not be allowed to undertake training for this programme.
