The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has put the speculations to rest by clarifying the news making rounds one several websites and newspapers related to the alleged change and dropped of some chapters of CBSE Class 10 Academic Session 2019-20.

Rejecting all the claims, CBSE recently issued a statement clarifying that no chapters have been deleted from Social Science Class 10 syllabus and all the chapters will be studied by the CBSE Class 10 students.

At a presser, CBSE reportedly stated, “The decision of the board to make few chapters as part of internal assessment is based on the sound rationale in view of the feedback from stakeholders and recommendations of the Committee of Courses of Social Science.”

CBSE further clarified that the alleged dropped chapters will only be part of internal assessment, but not the final board exam with focus on strengthening its evaluation process including the school based/internal assessment, in order to augment the skill set being acquired by the students.

Earlier, there were reports that chapters on democracy and diversity from CBSE Class 10 Social Science Syllabus for the current 2019-2020 academic session have been dropped. The step by the Board had drawn criticism from academicians, teachers and thinkers who said that the decision was wrong.
