Finally, the wait is over. Candidates desperately waiting for the RRB Group D exam should note the RRBs of Ministry of Railways have notified that the Computer Based Tests (CBT) for recruitment of Level 1 or RRB Group D posts is most likely to begin next month. The Computer Based Tests (CBT) for recruitment of Level 1 posts is likely to start from September 17, 2018, stated the notification, adding that the Exam City, Date and shift details shall be made live 10 days prior to the start of CBT.
Detailed CBT schedule shall be released shortly, it said. It has also been mentioned in the notification to refer to only official websites of RRBs for all the recruitment related information and do not fall prey to the false messages circulated on the Internet and social media.

"Further beware of touts and lob racketeers as BRBs recruits candidates only on merit and shortlisted candidates for all stages till the recommendation for appointment shall be published on the official websites af RRBs only", the statement read.
The railways has strictly warned against unscrupulous elements who cheated candidates by claiming there was a quota of minister of railways through which they could get selected if they paid a bribe.
In a statement, it said about Rs 93 lakh was collected by a group of people from candidates appearing for its computer-based exams in Maharashtra, especially in Vasai.
"The railways lodged an FIR. The Mumbai Police has promptly arrested two accused for the offence and further investigations are on," it said.
The national transporter is currently conducting recruitment for various posts, including about 66,000 posts for assistant loco pilots and various categories of technicians.
This recruitment is being conducted through Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). The railways is also conducting recruitment for 8,619 constables and 1,120 sub-inspectors in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Recruitment for this is being done by the director general of RPF.
For Group 'C' posts, about 47 lakh candidates have applied. For Level-1 posts about 1.89 crore candidates have applied. For constables and sub-inspectors in RPF about 58 lakh and 14 lakh candidates have applied, respectively.
"It was noticed that certain unscrupulous private persons were attempting to cheat several aspiring candidates by fraudulently claiming that there is a quota of minister of railways through which they can get selected on paying bribe," a statement by the national transporter said.

"There is no way of getting selected by any illegal means," it said.
The railways has time and again warned candidates not to fall prey to fraudulent promises by any imposter, tout, broker etc. through notices in national and regional news papers.
"It is once again reiterated by the railways that the process of recruitment is by rule and merit. The railways has not nominated any agent, coaching centres, intermediary or any other persons/institutes for recruitment, and therefore, any such persons/institutes found to be giving such false promises must be reported to the nearest police station and/or the Indian Railways," it said.
