Champions Trophy: No Indian flag in Lahore, fans call it PCB’s response to BCCI’s refusal to play in Pakistan

Pakistan will host the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 which will begin from Wednesday. Though eight teams will lock horns against each other in the mega event, India will play all their matches in Dubai due to strained political relationship with its neighbour.

Ahead of the tournament, the flags of seven teams, including that of Pakistan, were seen at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. However, the Indian flag was missing.

As per reports, during an event at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, Indian tri-colour was missing. However, the flags of all seven participating teams of the Champions Trophy were hoisted. The video of the incident has gone viral over various social media platforms.

Several fans are of the opinion that it was the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) response to the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision not to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy after they did not get clearance from their government.

Notably, the venue for knockout stage matches and the final of the mega event will only be confirmed if India make the distance.
