While the National Testing Agency (NTA) has already started receiving applications for JEE Main Exam online, the agency has announced introduction of a new paper along with a new exam pattern for the JEE Main Exam.
It was only last year that the JEE Main Exam was converted from once-a-year exam to twice-a-year exam for the convenience of students, so that they get a second chance in case they fail to deliver their best during their first appearance.
As per the latest developments, the NTA has increased the number of papers in JEE Main exam and will be conducted for three papers now instead of two.
The Paper-I was meant for those candidates who wished to take admission in B.Tech. courses while Paper-II was for those who wished to take admission in B.Arch. or B.Planning courses offered by NITs, IIITs or Centrally-funded Technical Institutes.
Now, the agency has introduced Paper-III only meant for entry to B.Planning courses, which means students have the choice to appear for Paper-I meant for B.Tech., Paper-II for B.Arch., and Paper-III for B.Planning. Also, they can appear for all three, any two, or just one paper, as per their choice and convenience, reported NDTV.
Now, Paper-II will have three parts in the question paper. Part-I will comprise Mathematics, Part-II will be a computer-based Aptitude Test, while Part-III is Drawing Test which will be pen-paper based.
However, the students applying for B.Planning should note that first two parts of Paper-III will be same as that of B.Arch but the Part-III will consist of planning based questions which would be conducted in computed-based mode.
Experts on the other hand have advised students to choose the subjects wisely. Though there is a dilemma after separation of the papers of B.Arch and B.Planning, experts believe it all depends on a student's career objectives as both subjects deal with slightly different aspects.
It is pertinent to note that the students should consider the institutes which offer B.Arch. and B.Planning programme, while filling their applications.
