The Central Board of Education (CBSE) has announced some changes as far as the sequence of post-result activities in providing photocopies of the evaluated answerbooks and in the process of verification of marks by class 10 and 12 students who appeared for the 2025 board examinations, the results of which are expected soon.
It is pertinent to mention here that CBSE already has in place a proper post result system for grievance redressal regarding result of candidates.
The present system is threefold and linear, whereby a candidate applying for the first step becomes eligible for the next and so forth, read the latest notification by CBSE.
The present system that was being followed is as under:
1. Verification of marks
2. Obtaining Photocopy of evaluated answer book
3. Re-valuation
From this year, the CBSE has changed the sequence of the application process, which will now be as follows.-
1. Obtaining Photocopy of evaluated answer book
2. Verification of marks or Re-valuation or both
Benefits of The New System?
Introduction of this new system will allow students to see their evaluated answer books before rechecking and give them clarity on the marks awarded, specific comments, and any errors made, said CBSE.
A candidate, after obtaining a photocopy of the evaluated answer book in the first step, can decide whether to opt for verification of marks, which entails posting/ totaling of marks or any unevaluated questions, or Re-evaluation whereby the candidate requests re-evaluation of a question or questions thereof.
A candidate can apply for either verification of marks or re-evaluation or both as per the due procedure after obtaining a photocopy of the answer book.
The detailed modalities for applying for obtaining a photocopy of the evaluated answer book and verification of marks or re-valuation of Question/s or for both for the candidates who have appeared for the 2025 Board examinations will be issued once the results for Class 10 and 12 are declared, the notice added.
