The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended several Exemptions/Concessions to 'Person with Benchmark Disabilities' for Class 10 and 12 examinations conducted by the Board in accordance with The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act-2016.
“In addition to Concession/Exemptions being extended as contained in circular no CBSE/COORD/ 112233/ 2019 Dated 12th April 2019, the Board has decided to facilitate such students by permitting use of Simple Basic Calculator during Class X & Class XII Board Examinations. Calculator will only be allowed to those students who have already been registered under CWSN category for class X & Class XII examinations 2020,” read a release from the Board.
Meanwhile, some Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) need to be followed to avail the facility:
(i) Students need to give request to their schools by January 28.
(ii) Principal of the School, after verifying from the concerned teacher, need to send the request to the concerned Regional Office with recommendations by February 2.
(iii) The Regional Office needs to send approval to the concerned school/centre supdt. by February 10.
Besides, in 2020, CBSE has decided to extend relaxations to the wards of Armed Forces and Para-Military Forces personnel. Wards appearing for the Class 10, 12 exams in 2020 and wish to change their centre of examinations in the same city, they would be allowed to do so.
If they wish to change their examination centre to some other city, they would be allowed to do so.
If they have missed their practical examination(s), the same would be conducted as per their convenience by April 2, 2020 by their school. If they wish to appear in the examination in any offered subject later, they will be permitted to do so, read the official release.
CBSE further stated that such candidates may request to their schools and subsequently, the schools need to send their request to the concerned regional office by January 31, 2020.
Meanwhile, the Board has already released the admit card for CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 Board examinations on its official website. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website cbse.nic.in.
