Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday said that it is not possible to conduct the CBSE board exams in January or February and no decision has been taken yet on the dates.
The CBSE board exams will be conducted post-February and discussion are underway to take a final call on the CBSE board exam dates, said Pokhriyal.
Speaking on conducting the CBSE board exams online, he said that holding the exams online is not possible for the time being.
On postponing the CBSE board exam dates, Pokhriyal said that the Narendra Modi government is with the students. Conducting the NEET exam was a challenging job but it was smoothly conducted amid the pandemic as one can't play with the future of the students.
The Education Minister said that vocational training with an internship will be introduced from class 6 onwards under the NEP 2020. "We aim to implement vocational education for students in class 6 onwards in middle schools," he said.
He also hailed the coordination between teachers, parents during the COVID-19 pandemic stating that it helped around 33 crore students in the country continue their study through online and different modes.
"Many countries cancelled their one entire academic year but our teachers continued to work hard and did not let any student waste his/her academic year," he said.
