Youth’s body found hanging from tree behind Sunhat hospital, kin allege murder

Balasore: Tension erupted at Sunhat hospital in the district today after the body of a youth was found hanging from a tree on the premises of the hospital.

Soon after some locals spotted the body hanging this morning, they raised a hue and cry on the campus. Situation went out of control as despite having been informed about the incident, police did not reach the spot.

Sources said vehicular movement on Chandipur DRDO road was also affected after locals and family members of the deceased staged a road blockade on Sunhat-Chandipur road protesting the death of the youth.

Later in the day, Town Police Station IIC reached the spot and pacified the locals to withdraw the agitation.

Police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem while an investigation has also been launched.

Though the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, his family members have alleged that he has been murdered. They have also lodged a complaint in this regard at local police station, informed sources.
