Youth hangs himself to death

Nayagarh: A youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Jagannath Prasad of Nayagarh district here on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Balabhadra Pradhan (22), son of Gopinath Pradhan of the village.

According to sources, Balabhadra allegedly hung himself from the ceiling of the kitchen in their house yesterday morning following which he died.

After a complaint was lodged by Pradhan's family at the Fategarh Police station, police registered a case of unnatural death, while investigation is on to ascertain the exact reason of his death, sources added.

"Family members complained that Balabhadra committed suicide by hanging himself in their house. We have registered an unnatural death (UD) case. The youth was reportedly detained by Infocity police two days ago and later released after issuing him a 41 CrPC warning notice. Further investigation is on," said Nayagarh ASP Sridhar Pani.
