Youth hacked to death, family suspects foul play

Nayagarh: A youth was hacked to death at Keshapania village under Sarankula police limits here over suspected political enmity late last night.

Family members of the deceased, identified as Suba Das, claimed that Das received a phone call at 11 pm on Wednesday following which he went outside. Later locals informed the family members that Das had been lying in critical condition near the school area.

Das was rushed to the Nayagarh district headquarters hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The Sarankula Police reached the spot and launched an investigation after family members of Das lodged a complaint alleging political enmity.

Das had unsuccessfully contested the rural polls for ward member post.
