Bolangir: Body of a youth was recovered from a field near KV College Square on Bangomunda Road in Kantabanji of Bolangir district today. The deceased has been identified as Suman Kuwar, a resident of Sunaripada village.

The matter came to light after a relative of Suman spotted the body and later informed other family members. Though it is suspected that Suman's death was on account of a road mishap as a motorcycle was found on the spot; his family members alleged that he was murdered.

Meanwhile, demanding justice and compensation, locals staged a road blockade on NH-42 linking Kantabanji- Bangomunda. On being informed Kantabanji police reached the spot and held discussions with the locals.

"Yesterday, my son and his friend had gone to the nearby village on a motorcycle. We called him several times, but he did not receive our call. Today morning we saw his body lying in the field. My son has been murdered and I urge the government to provide justice and compensation to my family," said Chanchal Kuwar, father of Suman.

"The family members of the deceased have not lodged any complainant yet. The body has been sent for post-mortem. We will start the investigation based on the post-mortem report," said Bijaynanda Karkara, Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Kantabanji Police Station.
