Woman looted of Rs 1.89 lakh at gun point in Khurda

Khurda: Two unidentified bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted Rs 1.89 lakh from a woman, an employee of a private finance company, at gunpoint near Badasankha under Banpur Police limits in Khurda district on Sunday.

According to reports, the two miscreants followed the employee, Babita Patra, while she was returning to Balugaon from Kumaranga village after collecting money from three groups. Later, the duo intercepted her at a lonely place near Badasankha area and looted the cash from her by brandishing a gun.

“They threatened me with a gun and looted Rs 1.89 lakh along with my vehicle and mobile phone. Before fleeing from the spot, they also kicked me when I resisted them,” alleged the Babita.

Banpur Police has initiated an investigation into the matter based on the woman’s complaint.
