Bhawanipatna/Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday conducted raids on the property of Bhawanipatna’s Northern Range District Forest Officer, Lalitendu Jena, for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.

According to sources, simultaneous raids were conducted at five places including his property at Bhawanipatna, Cuttack and residence in Gajapati Nagar of the capital city.

Jena’s parental house in Rajabagicha area of Cuttack was also searched. His brother has been detained for interrogation.

During the raid, total movable and immovable assets worth Rs 2.3 crore were detected in the name of Jena and his family members, official sources said.

The vigilance personnel have seized important documents from his possession.

While Jena’s flat in Bhubaneswar was estimated at Rs 90 lakh, bank deposit of Rs 90 lakh in the name of his father-in-law and gold ornaments weighing 600 grams was also traced, said an official.
