Bhubaneswar: A 'Pani puri' vendor was injured after unidentified miscreants opened fire at him in Tamando area here late on Thursday night. The injured has been identified as a local resident named Rabindra Swain.
According to sources, Swain was returning home after selling ‘Gupchup’ late last night when some unidentified miscreants waylaid and suddenly fired at him.
Sources said the miscreats also robbed Rs 1000 from Swain and fled the spot. Some locals rushed Swain to the hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.
On receiving information Tamando police made an on-spot investigation and have reportedly launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants. The exact reason behind the attack is yet to be established.
