Two youths killed, two others injured in firing in Cuttack

Cuttack: Two youths were killed and two others sustained critical bullet injuries after being shot at by a miscreant at Katikata Bazaar under Nischintakoili police limits in Cuttack district on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Sheikh Imran of Patasail village and Nityananda Mallick whereas the injured, Uttam Das and Raghunath Mallick have been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the four youths were watching a melody programme in Katikata Bazaar when an altercation ensued between Imran and another youth.

When Uttam, Raghunath and Nitynanda came to help Imran, the assailant opened fire at them and fled the spot. Imran died on the spot whereas Mallick who was critically injured in the incident died while undergoing treatment at SCB Hospital.

Police rushed to the spot after getting information and started investigation.
