Two brothers shot at by miscreants in Rairangpur

Rairangpur: Two brothers sustained bullet injuries after two bike-borne miscreants opened fire at them in Link Road of Rairangpur town of Mayurbhanj district today morning.

As per reports, the siblings, Daya Shankar Sahoo and Gouri Shankar Sahoo, engaged in trading were attacked by the miscreants around 7:40 AM today at their paddy godown near their house after an altercation.

When some onlookers reached the spot on hearing gun shots, the miscreants immediately fled the spot.

One of the siblings sustained bullet injuries in chest and shoulder whereas the other one suffered injury in his shoulder. Initially the victims were rushed to Rairangpur hospital by the family members but later shifted to Jamshedpur hospital after their health condition worsened.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and began probe into the incident. A bullet and some currency notes were seized from the spot.

It is suspected that the miscreants might have looted cash from the two brothers. But some family members alleged that they were attacked because of past business rivalry.
