Balasore: A suspected tout was nabbed by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and officials of Kharagpur Crime Branch from Balasore Railway Station on the charges of being involved in black marketing of train tickets.

The accused Nitei Das hails from West Bengal while train tickets worth over Rs 2 lakh has been recovered from his possession.

“We seized 11 live tickets worth Rs 11,000 and several other tickets which he had booked in the month of May and were supposed to be sold at much higher rates,” said Suresh Kumar, CB officer, Kharagpur.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Ministry has launched a nationwide drive, ‘Operation Thunder'  to nab touts who are misusing the e-ticketing and Tatkal facilities for booking and black market of train tickets.

According to reports, the touts buy tickets en-massè and further sell it to needy passengers at much higher prices.
