Three youths injured in clash over past enmity

Jagatsinghpur: Three persons were injured with one among them sustaining critical injuries in an attack over past enmity at Mukundapur village of Jagatsinghpur district.

As per reports, one Suryakant Sahoo and his friend Basant Patra were having a private conversation near Madarahat temple. Suryakant's brother Ajit reached the place following which the two siblings had an argument. In the heat of the moment, Ajit reportedly attacked Suryakant and his friend Basanta. Suryakant was critically injured sustaining a deep knife wound in his throat. Sources informed that Suryakant has been shifted to Cuttack medical in critical condition.

Ajit too was injured during the clash. Police have reportedly arrested Ajit, while further investigation is underway.

"The accused first attacked Suryakant who sustained critical injuries. We have launched a probe into the incident and will take action as per the reports. Preliminary investigation suggests that the crime was a result of provocation," said, the investigating officer.
