Theft of Rs 10 lakh ornaments: Delhi Police nabs accused from Odisha

Balasore: A youth from Balasore district has been arrested on the charges of stealing gold and diamond ornaments worth over Rs 10 lakh from a businessman’s house in Delhi. The accused, Karunakar Das was arrested by a special team of Delhi Police from Raghunathpur village under Soro block.

As per reports, Karunakar was working as a domestic help at the house of a Delhi-based businessman, Ravindra Kumar Khari. On June 4, Karunakar allegedly went absconding after stealing the gold and diamond ornaments from the house of his employer.

A three-member team of Delhi Police nabbed Karunakar with assistance from Soro Police. During interrogation, Karunakar revealed to have sold the stolen ornaments in Cuttack.

Moreover, further investigation in connection with the incident is underway, Police said.
