Six juveniles arrested for raping minor girl in Keonjhar
Keonjhar: A day after a 12-year-old girl was gang raped in Joda police limits of Keonjhar district, the cops arrested six persons in connection with the case following simultaneous raids at different places. Shockingly, all the six accused are juveniles.
The accused minor boys were initially detained at the local police station for interrogation and during the course of investigation, police found their involvement in the rape.
“Yesterday we raided six different places and nabbed six minor boys. During interrogation, we found that all of them were involved in the rape case. All six have been forwarded to court,” said Dilip Bag, Barbil SDPO.
The minor girl was reportedly gang raped after being allegedly abducted by the minor boys in Joda area Monday night.
A complaint registered in this regard mentioned that the girl was kidnapped while she was on way to her uncle’s place along with one of her relatives. The accused intercepted the duo and later forcibly took the girl to an isolated place and gang raped her.
Later, her family members rushed to the spot after being informed by her relative, and they frantically searched the whole area to trace the girl. The girl was subsequently rescued in an unconscious state as she was raped and dumped on roadside by the miscreants.
The survivor is now battling for her life at the local hospital.
