Sundergarh: A strained relationship between a couple in Sundergarh district of Odisha took an ugly turn after the husband allegedly stabbed their 5-year-old son to death today. The shocking incident was reported from RS Colony under Bondamunda Police limits here.

Reportedly, the accused Hondo Oram was allegedly having some differences with his wife. As a result, their conjugal life was going through a very rough patch. Today, when Oram’s wife was out of the house to attend nature's call, he allegedly stabbed his son with the help of a knife and later surrendered before police.

“I had gone to attend nature’s call when he (Oram) killed my son. I do not know why he resorted to such violence. My husband always used to beat me but despite his torture I wanted to stay with him,” said Oram’s wife.

On the other hand, Inspector-in-charge of Bondamunda Police Station, Upendra Behera stated that the incident could be a fallout of family feud. “We got information that a 5-year-boy has been killed by his father. We have sent the body for post mortem. We suspect the incident was a fallout of some family feud. We have registered a case and further investigation is on,” the IIC added.
