Keonjhar: In a major crackdown on a fake job racket, Keonjhar Police arrested seven persons on Sunday on charges of duping many unemployed youths on the pretext of providing jobs.

According to sources, the members of the racket were running a marketing organisation named 'Glaze India' at Naranpur under Town Police limits in the district and had taken money from job aspirants.

Later, when the job aspirants did not get any job for a long time, they reportedly informed the matter to police.

Based on the complaint lodged, police conducted raid at the office of the organisation, arrested seven persons and seized important documents.

"Preliminary investigation revealed that around Rs 2 lakh was taken from each of the candidates. They were not providing any facilities to the candidates and were insisting them to do marketing business. Many candidates left the job and didn't receive remuneration," said Investigating Officer, Somnath Jena.

Meanwhile, a further investigation into the matter is underway.
