Sarpanch's son shot at in Ganjam; family alleges political enmity

Bhanjanagar: Panic gripped A. Karadabadi panchayat under Buguda block of Ganjam district after son of the Sarpanch was shot at by unidentified miscreants in Soroda village on Friday night.

As per sources, the eldest son of A. Karadabadi's Sarpanch Khadali Pradhan, Saroj Kumar Pradhan, was sitting on the veranda of his house when some bike borne miscreants arrived on the spot, fired three rounds and hurled a bomb at him. They also hurled some bombs at his residence and fled from there immediately.

Saroj sustained bullet injuries on his stomach. He was immediately rushed to Sub Divisional Hospital Bhanjanagar and was later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as his condition deteriorated.

Saroj's brother Manoj Kumar Pradhan alleged that previous enmity and political rivalry is the reason behind the attack.
