Police foil highway robbery plan in Khurda, 3 arrested

Khurda: Police today foiled a dacoity plan and arrested three persons near Tapang Chhak in Khurda. The cops have seized guns, bullets and sharp weapons from their possession.

As per reports, Sadar Police conducted a surprise raid near Tapang Chhak while patrolling on the highway. A gang of five dacoits were planning to execute a robbery when the cops reached the spot, informed sources. Though two of the miscreants managed to escape, the cops nabbed three of them and seized weapons from their possession.

The arrested miscreants have been identified as Suresh Das from Soran, Gurubari Nayak from Haladia and Rakesh Mandalia from Balasore.

"Acting on a tip off, IIC of Sadar Police Station raided a deserted house near Tapang Chhak while the miscreants were hatching a robbery plan," said Amulya Kumar Das, Khurda SP.
