Odisha shamed again: Woman alleges gang rape by 3 youths

Khurda: In yet another incident of violence against women in Odisha, a woman was allegedly gang raped by three miscreants at knife-point in Jankia area of Khurda district today.

According to the complaint filed by the rape survivor, 3 armed youths stalked 2 women near the outskirts of the village and kidnapped one of them. They took her to the nearby jungle and then raped her at knife point. Later they fled the spot leaving her in a critical condition.

The survivor was rescued after the other woman informed the villagers about the incident. She was first admitted to Khurda district headquarters hospital and later shifted to Bhubaneswar Capital Hospital when her condition worsened.

On the other hand, even after three days since a minor girl was gang raped by some miscreants in Polasara area of Ganjam district, the police are yet to make any headway in the probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Sandhyabati Pradhan, met the Ganjam rape survivor in the hospital.
