Odisha Man Dupes People By Posing As Addl SP, Arrested

Cuttack: Chauliaganj Police on Friday arrested a man on charges of duping people by posing himself as Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) of Odisha Crime Branch.

Based on a complaint filed by a victim, police initiated an investigation and arrested Kartik Routray from Cuttack. "Kartik Routray is a veteran cheat who defrauded many by persuading them to transfer money, impersonating as CID officer. The inter-district fraud was arrested by Chauliaganj police. He has cheated money from the victim through account transfer impersonating himself as Additional SP Crime Branch," said police.

Police also seized seven mobile phones, 21 SIM cards, 14 bank passbooks, and nine chequebooks, 17 ATM cards and a gold chain from Routray's possession.

Meanwhile, the cops are interrogating him to find out whether he is involved in any other fraud case.
