Berhampur: It seems that miscreants are having a field run in Ganjam district as reports of attacks on people in broad daylight have now become a regular feature. This time, a youth sustained multiple injuries after he was brutally attacked by miscreants with sharp weapons on Tuesday. The injured has been identified as Niranjan Pradhan, who works as a junior clerk at Sevananda Degree College at Bomkai under Digapahandi area in Ganjam district.

According to reports, three miscreants intercepted and attacked Pradhan with sharp weapons while he was on his way to the college between 9:30 and 10 AM today. The incident was captured in a CCTV camera installed at the spot. In the short duration video, miscreants brandishing sharp weapons can be seen chasing Pradhan.

The family members informed that Pradhan did not have any enmity with anyone. “We do not why the youths attacked my son,” said father of the injured clerk, Bipra Pradhan.

Though the exact motive behind the attack is unclear, police have launched a probe to nab the miscreants who have been reportedly identified.
