Notorious criminal nabbed after Police encounter in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: Notorious criminal, Sheikh Nadeem was nabbed after an encounter with the police near Arjunpur under Patkura Police limits of Kendrapara district in the wee hours of Saturday.

Nadeem sustained bullet injuries on his left leg and has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack from Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Police have also seized a gun and sharp weapon from him.

Sources said Nadeem had gone to deliver guns to his aide in Krishnandapur area of Jagatsinghpur district when a special squad of Patkura Police, acting on a tipoff, intercepted him near Arjunpur.

In a bid to flee, Nadeem opened fire at the police officials. The squad fired back in retaliation in which Nadeen was hit on his left leg.

According to sources, Nadeen is wanted in more than 14 cases in different police stations of Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and nearby districts.
