Notorious criminal Chaga booked under NSA

Cuttack: Dreaded criminal Bibekananda Sahu alias Chaga has been booked under the National Security Act (NSA), informed Superintendent of Police (Cuttack Rural) Madhav Chandra Sahu. As per directions of the district collector, Chaga has been lodged at Choudwar jail.

After being on the run, Chaga, who was wanted in several criminal cases, was arrested on May 27 last year. Cases pertaining to dacoity, bombing and extortion are registered against the criminal who was earlier booked under NSA twice in 2002 and 2007.

Police sources said Chaga was earlier injured after he was shot at by miscreants near Bombay hotel in Cuttack in May 2011. Later carrying out investigations into the case, Commissionerate Police had arrested two persons in June 2011.
